Richard Oxley has been repairing and restoring woodwind and brass instruments for over 30 years. beginning with his apprenticeship under some of the older craftsmen in the industry, he began learning brass repair at Schilke Custom Trumpets in Chicago. Afterwards, he expanded his knowledge by working at music store repair shops across the country. In Los Angeles, he had his own repair and restoration business near Studio City. He maintained the instruments of top recording stars and professional musicians for almost ten years before moving to the Pacific Northwest. There the past 10 years Mr. Oxley Managed a repair shop for a chain of Seattle Based music stores for 10 years. After Visiting Prescott Several Times, he has made it his home.
Mr Oxley repairs all woodwind and brass instruments and specializes in professional and vintage saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet / cornet and trombone restorations. An accomplished musician, Richard Oxley primarily plays trumpet and saxophone but is also proficient with other brass instruments and woodwinds. Mr Oxley also does custom modifications on woodwinds and brass and conversions of cornets and trumpets to tunable, detachable bell and leadpipe conversions.
